Although much of our body is built from the foods we eat, much of our mind is built from the experiences we have.
But the brain, our ‘miracle machine’, has a bias toward negativity. This is not a bad thing, it is part of evolution and survival but as a result it can tilt towards a negative direction even when we have positive experiences in our everyday lives.

As a 70’s child I was force fed Pink Floyd from an early age, their lyrics so far have journeyed with me throughout my life, always there like an ever present hum in the background. They feel timeless, exciting and philosophical.

How can having a gratitude practice help during times of austerity or when you’ve had the rug pulled from under your feet and are treading water merely trying to survive? Surely NOW is not the time to be grateful, I hear you say.
But in fact it is, because gratitude can help lift our spirits, it is a practice and a way of living with full appreciation of the present moment.
